Man Fatally Shoots Self In Front Of Troopers At Tampa Car Wash

A 25-year-old Plant City man has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being involved in a domestic dispute.

TAMPA, FL — A 25-year-old Plant City man has died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound after being involved in a domestic dispute with his former girlfriend.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. a 27-year-old woman from Tampa contacted the FHP to tell them her ex-boyfriend had followed her down Interstate 275 after a domestic dispute.

The woman stopped at a Circle K near Kennedy Boulevard and Howard Avenue in Tampa where troopers spoke with her. While they were speaking, the ex-boyfriend pulled up at a car wash across the street. Upon seeing the troopers, he took out a handgun and shot himself in the chest.

He was taken to the hospital where he died.
