Man Robbed While Walking Home From Work in South Tampa

The incident was reported to the Tampa Police Department.

A man walking home from work was robbed by three men earlier this week, according to a report from the Tampa Police Department.

Here's what happened, according to the report:

Around 9:12 p.m. on Monday at Franklin Street North and Harrison Street East, the man was heading home from work when he was approached by three men.

One of the suspects asked if he dropped an MP3 player, and held up a small one to show the man. After the man said he didn't have an MP3 player, the suspect moved closer to the man and asked if he lost the device.

As the suspect got within arms length of the man, he grabbed a pair of black generic sunglasses from the man's head. Then, the suspect asked if the man had anything else, and told him to drop his belongings on the ground.

The man called 911 from his cell phone and fled north on Florida Avenue. He described the three men to authorities, who are still on the lookout for them.
