Man Fatally Shot By Tampa Police Officer Responding To Fight

TAMPA, FL — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred Sunday at 10:17 p.m.

Officers were called to the 3700 block of Temple Street after receiving a report of a fight in which one person had a gun.

When they arrived, an officer saw an armed man and gave chase. Seconds later, the officer called over the radio that shots had been fired.

The armed man was struck by a bullet and officers began CPR. The man was taken to the hospital where he died.
