The Platters Headline Busch Gardens’ Real Music Series This Week

Lee Greenwood and Herman's Hermits will also appear during the concert series at the Tampa theme park.

TAMPA, FL – One of the most iconic bands of the 1950s is appearing at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay this week as part of the theme park’s Real Music Series.

The Platters, known best for their debut single, “Only You (and You Alone” launched the vocal group to world stardom. It became an instant hit, reaching No. 5 on the Pop charts and helping to pioneer the new sound of Rock ‘N’ Roll as it’s known today.

The Real Music Series will bring other acts from country to pop to the Stanleyville Theater stage throughout the next six weeks. All of the acts will perform at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday on the following days:

  • Now through Jan. 28: The Platters
  • Jan. 30-Feb. 4: Fernando Varela
  • Feb. 6-11: Herman’s Hermits starring Peter Noone
  • Feb. 13-18: Beginnings: The Ultimate Chicago Tribute Band
  • Feb. 20-25: Micky Dolenz of The Monkees
  • Feb. 27-March 4: Lee Greenwood

The Real Music Series is free with park admission. Show tickets are required and can be picked up from the following locations:

  • For the 11:30 a.m. performance, ticket are available at the Moroccan Village Plaza (front gate)
  • For all performances, tickets are available at the tent outside the Stanleyville Theater
