Rays, Marlins Face Long Odds To Win World Series

The outlook for a Florida team to win the World Series this year is not good, according to oddsmakers

Don't look for a Florida team in the World Series this year, if the oddsmakers are correct. The Tampa Bay Rays face 200-to-1 odds to win the 2018 baseball championship. The Miami Marlins face even longer odds at 500-to-1. Meanwhile, the Houston Astros are odd-on favorites to repeat their championship run of last year, according to vegasinsider.com.

The odds for the Rays to win the American League pennant, 100-to-1; and to win the American League East, 65-to-1. The Marlins face the longest odds of any National League team to win the pennant at 250-to-1; and to win the National League East, 150-to-1, also the longest odds for any team in the division.

If the oddsmakers are right, the Astros will face the Dodgers in the World Series again. The Astros are an 11-to-2 favorite to win the 2018 World Series, vegasinsider.com says. So are the Dodgers. The New York Yankees are a 6-to-1 favorite, the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians are both 7-to-1 favorites. Odds for the Red Sox to win: 10-to-1.
