Resident, Dog Escape Fire At South Tampa Home
A South Tampa resident and her dog escaped injury, but the fate of two cats remains uncertain following a fire that swept through a home.

TAMPA, FL — A South Tampa resident and her dog escaped injury, but the fate of two cats remains uncertain following a fire that swept through a home in the 3000 block of West Bay Vista Avenue at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Tampa Fire Rescue crews arrived to find flames coming from the second story of the bungalow. After making sure that a woman, the sole occupant, was safely out of the home, firefighters rescued a dog but were unable to find two cats that were in the house.
The fire was under control by 12:06 p.m. Tampa Fire Rescue said the fire appears to be accidental.
