Roach Laid Egg In Florida Man's Ear: Report

A 25-year-old Florida man said he had to seek medical treatment when a cockroach laid an egg in his ear.

A Tallahassee man said he had to seek medical treatment when a cockroach laid an egg in his ear.

Blake Collins, 25, went to the hospital last week after he awoke to hear a cockroach crawling in his ear, the Tallahassee Democrat reported.

"A roach was burrowing inside of my head," Collins told the newspaper. "I could hear his legs inside me. It felt like someone was shoving a Q-tip all the way inside my head and there was nothing I could do to stop it."

A doctor used lidocaine and a syringe to kill the cockroach. After removing the insect, the doctor also found an egg in Collins’ ear.

"Bugs crawling and dying in your ear — that's something that happens to corpses, not human beings," Collins said.
