Sal Y Mar Rooftop Bar Now Open in Midtown Tampa

Sal Y Mar will host a Super Bowl watch party on Sunday, Feb. 7 starting at 3 p.m.

TAMPA, FL — Just in time for the Super Bowl, Concord Hospitality Enterprises Co. announced the opening Friday of its stylish new rooftop bar, Sal Y Mar, high atop the dual-branded Aloft and Element Hotel that recently opened in Midtown Tampa.

Sal Y Mar (Salt and Sea) is easily accessible from a dedicated elevator on the hotel’s ground floor and is open Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Seating is first-come, first-served.

“It was a tremendous team effort, and we couldn’t be happier with the way everything came together to create this exceptional new rooftop experience here in Midtown Tampa,” said Evette Torres, dual general manager for Aloft and Element Hotel. “The views are even more spectacular than I had hoped, and we’re thrilled to finally share them with our guests and our new neighbors in what I hope becomes their new favorite hangout in Midtown.”

While taking in 360-degree views of the Tampa, Westshore and St. Petersburg skylines, guests at Sal Y Mar can experience a collection of tapas, from Citrus Crab Cakes and Vegetable Bruschetta, to more authentic Spanish treats such as Carne Asada Street Tacos and Pan-Seared Scallops with mango puree, plantain crisp and pico de gallo.

The menu was created by Executive Chef Stephanie Bisogne and showcases the freshest possible local ingredients in an assortment of salads and entrees, including Filet Mignon, Pan-Seared Grouper, Chipotle-Charred Chicken and more, along with a small selection of fresh-made desserts. Sal Y Mar also serves a wide array of classic and artisanal craft cocktails, local craft beers, wines and bubbles for guests to enjoy as they toast another Florida sunset.

Sal Y Mar will host a Super Bowl watch party on Sunday, Feb. 7 starting at 3 p.m. Guests can enjoy buckets of beer for $20 domestic and $25 imported (five bottles) as well as their full menu.

Drawing on Mayan influences from the Mexican coastal town of Tulum, the space is dressed in earth tones and coastal organic finishes, with fresh crisp linens, bamboo ceiling and comfortable hanging hammock chairs. Whether gathered for happy hour, special events or a fun evening out with friends, guests can enjoy panoramic skyline views of the Bay area through floor-to-ceiling windows or the open air.

The 4,900-square-feet space will also provide a new option for private social or corporate gatherings. Sal Y Mar can comfortably accommodate up to 71 guests inside and 118 outdoors.
