South Florida Couple Finds Alligator On Doorstep
A noisy alligator awoke members of a Coral Springs family early Thursday.
A Coral Springs couple was surprised at what knocked at their front doorstep Thursday morning.
Luann and Jorge Alonso awoke to noises around 5 a.m. in the frontyard of their west Broward County home.
“We opened the blinds and and right against our living room windows there was an alligator laying there,” Luann Alonso said to Fort Lauderdale’s Sun Sentinel.

A 9-foot alligator was whacking its tail against accordion hurricane shutters installed on the windows of the couple’s home, the Sentinel reports.
The Alonsos’ home borders Florida’s Everglades, but never did they expect to see a gator so close.

“I thought it wasn’t real,” Luann Alonso said to CBS Miami.
“I’ve lived in this house for over 18 years. I’ve seen them on the bank [of the canal] in the back but never in the front yard and definitely not against my front window.”
A trapper from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission captured the gator, according to CBS.
The alligator was deemed a “nuisance” by FWC and not returned to the wild.
