Detectives Still Searching for South Tampa Burglar

Mitchell Reddin, 25, of Port Tampa City, is believed to be responsible for seven South Tampa home burglaries in the past two months, according to Tampa Police Department.

Tampa Police are still searching for a suspect they believe is responsible for seven South Tampa home burglaries in the past two months.

The burglaries have occurred in and around the Sun Bay South area between sunset and sunrise. The burglar entered the residences through open windows or sliding doors while the victims were home.

“The suspect enters through various means and in three instances has targeted purses. During the latest burglary, the suspect entered the victim’s room and took the cash from the dresser drawer,” said Tampa Police Department District I crime analyst Ashley Gehrig in a release.

Police believe the suspect is Mitchell Reddin, 25, listed as living at 7403 S. Obrien St. in Port Tampa City. He drives a 2002 Silver Pontiac Grand Am, with the Florida tag number P727PF.

He was described as a black male, 6-foot-2, 185 pounds, and he wears hair in cornrows with a do-rag on his head.

According to police, the homes that have been targeted by Reddin so far are:

  • 4510 Rogers Ave. on May 6 at 11:05 p.m.
  • 4406 W. Iowa Ave. on April 18 at 7 a.m.
  • 6916 Fitzgerald St. on April 17 at 6:35 a.m.
  • 4610 S. Matanzas Av. on April 10 at 11:10 p.m.
  • 7113 S. Wall St. on April 1 at 8:40 p.m.
  • 3617 W. Wallace Ave. on March 29 at 11:05 p.m.
  • 6210 W. Richard Ave. on March 24 at 10:30 p.m.
