Steamy Temperatures Kick Off Tampa Bay’s Workweek
Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area in the weather department over the week ahead.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay residents eager for a taste of fall will have to wait a little longer. According to the National Weather Service, the workweek will begin with some rather steamy temperatures.
Monday is expected to kick things off with mostly cloudy skies and a high around 90 degrees. The heat index value may climb as high as 100 degrees in some parts of the region. Storms are possible in the afternoon hours with wet conditions expected to linger into the evening. The overnight low is forecast to fall only into the mid-70s. Tuesday is expected to begin with mostly sunny conditions, but that development may come at the price of a warmer anticipated high. Forecasters expect temperatures to soar into the low 90s in parts of the region with heat index values likely to hit about 100 degrees once again. A few storms may crop up during the daytime hours, but forecasters do not anticipate strong chances for rain. Slight rain chances linger into the overnight hours when the low should fall into the low 70s.

Mostly sunny skies are expected Wednesday, along with a slightly cooler high in the upper 80s. Slight rain chances are in the forecast in the afternoon and evening hours. The overnight low is expected to fall into the low 70s.
Forecasters expect Thursday and Friday to be near mirrors of each other. Highs in the upper 80s with mostly sunny conditions are expected both days. Overnight lows are anticipated to drop into the low- to mid-70s. While a shower may crop up in parts of the region, rain does not play a significant role in the forecast for Thursday or Friday.

While a warm, but relatively mild week ahead is expected, the weather service warns that river flooding remains a concern in some parts of the Tampa Bay area. Residents who live along rivers and streams are asked to remain vigilant.
