Tampa-Based Prepared Meal Company Now 2nd Largest In America

TAMPA, FL — Ten years ago, Fitlife Foods started as a single store in Tampa with a kitchen in the back serving about 300 meals per day in its first year.

Today, Fitlife Foods, is the second-largest retail and direct-to-consumer prepared-meals retailer in the country and the largest in the Southeast.

Known for its fresh, flavorful, well-balanced meals, Fitlife Foods has expanded to 12 locations, boasts a burgeoning delivery service and sells more than 12,000 meals per day.

Within the last decade, direct-to-consumer prepared meal services have increased in popularity and provided an avenue of expansion for Fitlife Foods, prompting the meal preparation service to open 12 brick-and-mortar locations throughout Florida with a store in Atlanta under construction.

After delivering to homes from Atlanta to Miami since 2018, Fitlife Food will begin delivering nationally this year.

In 2020, while many businesses remained stagnant during the coronavirus pandemic, Fitlife Foods founder David Osterweil poised the business for growth. He added Chef Chris Austin, a James Beard scholarship recipient, redesigned the brand and updated Fitlife Foods' menu selections.
