Tampa Bay Workweek Weather: Short Sleeves Needed

Find out what's in store for the Tampa Bay area as the workweek progresses.

TAMPA, FL — Tampa Bay area residents will want to make sure to pull out those summer clothes as the workweek gets under way.

According to the National Weather Service, the region is in for a rather steamy week. On the upside, sunshine dominates the forecast most days this week, but so do high temperatures in the 90-degree range.

Forecasters expect Monday to kick things off with sunny conditions and a high in the upper 80s. Overnight, mostly clear skies are expected with a low in the upper 60s. Rain chances aren't significant on Monday or during much of the week ahead.

Tuesday is expected to bring more sunshine with a high in the low 90s anticipated in much of the region. Partly cloudy conditions move in during the overnight hours when the low should fall to about 70 degrees.

Wednesday brings more sunshine and a high around 90 in much of the Tampa Bay area. Forecasters expect partly cloudy overnight conditions and a low around 70.

Thursday and Friday are expected to bring slightly cooler conditions with a high both days in the upper 80s in much of the region. Sunny daytime conditions on both days are expected to become partly cloudy in the overnight hours. Lows both nights are expected to only fall into the low 70s.

While forecasters on Monday didn’t anticipate rain to dominate the workweek forecast, they did indicate a return of storm chances in time for the weekend. Saturday and Sunday both are expected to deliver about a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Even with those storm chances, forecasters anticipate the weekend will deliver daytime highs around 90 degrees.
