TAMPA, FL — Tampa police detectives are investigating an incident Wednesday in which an officer shot at a man carrying a long gun.

At 10:05 p.m. officers driving on North 22nd Street encountered a man in the road carrying a long gun, a category of firearms with long barrels. Officers ordered the man to drop the gun. When the man didn't comply, one of the officers fired at the man but did not hit him.

The man was taken into custody.
