Tampa Seeks Residents' Input On Transportation Improvements
The city of Tampa's mobility team is hosting a series of Tampa MOVES Listen First Meetings in different neighborhoods.

TAMPA, FL — The city of Tampa's mobility team is hosting a series of Tampa MOVES Listen First Meetings in different neighborhoods to discuss planning efforts, provide updates on transportation projects and collect input on transportation, growth and development.
The first meeting is Feb 23.
In 2019, Mayor Jane Castor and the Transportation Advisory Team released five strategic recommendations to address a number of mobility-related issues facing the city of Tampa.

The recommendations included:
- Implement strategic transit projects
- Focus on trails and greenways as transportation options
- Adopt Vision Zero as a citywide policy
- Reinvent urban parking and mobility
- Enhance neighborhood engagement
Tampa MOVES (Mobility, Opportunity, Vision, Equity, and Safety) is the city of Tampa's new transportation plan to address these recommendations. The new plan will cover all the ways to get around the city.

Once completed, Tampa MOVES will outline transportation objectives and initiatives for the next 30 years, with an emphasis on memorializing the city’s strategic vision and engaging the public to meet the city's mobility goals.
Ten, one-hour virtual meetings will be held for different neighborhood groups across the city between February and April with one meeting being hosted in Spanish, open to all Spanish speakers throughout the city.
These “Listen First Meetings” are a first step in identifying challenges and opportunities facing the city and developing solutions for the future.
The meetings will introduce upcoming citywide planning efforts, provide updates on transportation projects currently under development in the city, and collect input on current challenges and opportunities for transportation, growth and development now and in the future.
This will be an opportunity for city residents to get engaged in the planning process.
If you are unable to attend the meeting in your area, a recording and follow-up survey will be provided on the city's Tampa MOVES website. You may also choose to attend a meeting in another area.
