Tampa Traffic Signal Opens Wednesday, Boosts Safety: County
The new traffic signal in northwestern Hillsborough County is set to boost safety and benefit traffic.
HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A traffic light meant to increase the safety of a Hillsborough County intersection is set to open at a ribbon cutting on Wednesday, according to a release from the county.
The intersection at Race Track Road and Reptron Boulevard in northwest Hillsborough County, will be updated with crosswalks and pedestrian-activated signals to boost safety for walkers and bikers.
The release says the upgrade will benefit residential and commercial traffic from reduced delay and traffic signal protected turning.

"Overall, the intersection is more pedestrian-friendly and provides a visual cue for motorists that there is a neighborhood nearby," the release says.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly upgraded intersection will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the intersection at 12425 Race Track Road
