1. Tom Brady, 44, announced on Sunday via Twitter that he is returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 season, walking back an earlier retirement decision just over a month ago. It will be Brady's 23rd NFL season. (Tampa Patch)
2. Hillsborough County Commissioner Stacy White has proposed a compromise on disputed sales tax money that is nearly $521 million of locked transportation tax funds. He previously sued the county and derailed a 2018 voter-approved transportation sales tax that was meant to help upgrade roads and buses locally. White wants some of the money spent on new road lanes in his own eastern Hillsborough district with the leftovers earmarked for the county's ongoing road repaving program. (Tampa Bay Times)
3. A pair of Head Start teachers in Pinellas County were arrested over the weekend after being accused of roughly treating the children in their care, deputies said. 52-year-old Kimberly Ann Nicotra of Seminole and 53-year-old Jacqueline Alers of St. Petersburg are charged with child abuse for the treatment of the students. (WFLA)
4. A Spring Hill man is accused of calling 911 to have the methamphetamine he recently purchased from a man he met at an area bar tested because he believed it was really bath salts. Thomas Eugene Colucci made the emergency call around 7 p.m. on Thursday. Deputies say Colucci told them that he is an experienced drug user who's used methamphetamine in the past and knew what it should feel like. He has been charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. (Fox 13 Tampa)
5. A terminally ill Hillsborough County circuit court judge remained on the job, drawing a paycheck for years, even though he was no longer able to conduct hearings or issue rulings. Judge Carl Hinson died on December 3 from brain cancer. Some people who had cases assigned to his courtroom said they were never officially notified he was ill. (ABC Action News)
