Trauma Awareness Day at Tampa General Hospital Allows Patient Testimonials

At 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 31 in the Rehab Activity Room (2^nd floor of the Tampa General Hospital Rehab Center), the TGH Regional Trauma Center will host a Trauma Awareness Day luncheon. 

May is Trauma Awareness Month, and TGH is the region’s only Level 1 Trauma Center.

Caregivers will reunite with their patients who have overcome severe injuries, spending weeks and months recovering. Dozens of former patients have been invited back to share their inspirational stories.

Ireland Nugent and her family have also been invited to attend. Ireland lost her feet to a lawnmower accident.

This special day can serve as a reminder to everyone of the importance of safety on the roads in particular, with graduation celebrations and summer vacations approaching. 

Parking is limited by the Rehab Center, which is behind the hospital on the most northern tip of the campus next to the Aeromed landing personnel.
