Twiggs Street Sees Temporary Lane Closures This Week

Construction on a new development will force the temporary lane closures.

TAMPA, FL – One of the east-west streets in downtown Tampa will see temporary lane closures later this week.

A portion of Twiggs Street between Meridian Avenue and Channelside Drive will close on Saturday, May 20.

The two eastbound lanes on Twiggs Street between Meridian Avenue and 12th Street, along with one westbound lane on Twiggs between Channelside and Meridian, will close on 9 a.m. on May 20 for a sanitary manhole connection.

The construction work, being completed by RIPA and Associates, is being done for a new development on the south side of Twiggs Street.

Twiggs Street between Meridian Avenue and Channelside Drive is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, weather permitting.

The City of Tampa recommends motorists use alternate routes – specifically, East Kennedy Boulevard – to avoid traffic congestion.
