VIDEO: Man Accused Of Taking Picture Up Teen Girl's Clothes

Police say a man was caught on camera taking a picture or video up the clothing of the girl standing in front of him in a line at Chipotle.

TAMPA, FL — Authorities have arrested a man accused of taking a photo or video looking up the clothing of a teenage victim. Michael Benson, 48, of Oldsmar, faces a charge of video voyeurism under or through the clothing, a felony.

According to a police affidavit, Benson was standing in line at a Chipotle at 12827 Dale Mabry Highway North in Tampa on Jan. 20 when he was seen on surveillance video using his cellphone.

Police say Benson identified himself as the man in the video, shown below.

In the video, police say, Benson is seen bending over, lowering his phone underneath the teen girl in front of him in line and quickly standing back up when she begins to turn around. "The video shows the defendant clearly, and without obstruction, use his mobile phone to take a photograph and/or video underneath the confidential victim's clothing," the police affidavit said.

The video shows the phone's flashlight to be on during the incident.

Benson denied taking a photograph or video, police say.

Contrary to Benson's claim, the affidavit says, the victim said she heard a click consistent with the sound made by taking a photo on a mobile phone.

Soon after, the victim, whose identity is confidential, approached the management of the Chipotle and was given access to the store's surveillance video.

Benson frequented Chipotle for the past several years during lunchtime, management told authorities.

The sheriff's office asked the public's help in identifying him, and says tips were crucial in the process.

Anybody with information on this case is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 813-247-8200.
