1. ?Warhol?s West? is opening next month at downtown St. Pete's James Museum on Saturday, October 2nd. It is a collaboration between Georgia?s Booth Western Art Museum and the Cochran Collection. Members get access a day early and also a reception on Friday, October 15th.(Creative Loafing Tampa)

2. Climate activists rallied on Monday at the Tampa office of U.S. Rep. Kathy Castor (D-Tampa) on Monday, urging her to end fossil fuel subsidies. American taxpayers currently spend $15 billion annually subsidizing the fossil fuel industry and the latest infrastructure adds $25 billion more as well. Castor has been a longtime proponent for ending the subsidies. (Tampa Patch)

3. Mission Smiles is working to change lives and works with abuse shelters, human trafficking survivors, homeless and people who recently lost their jobs to provide dental care. Wesley Chapel dentist, Dr. Ronak Parikh of Baybreeze Dental, volunteers his time to give dental work to abuse survivors and is part of a network of volunteers with the organization. (WTSP)

4. Uptown Eats located in St. Petersburg's Historic Uptown is celebrating its first anniversary. The restaurant had its final inspection before opening on September 11th, 2020. Owner Dan Schmidt previously worked at Banyan Cafe, which occupied the same space prior, about 10 years ago. The restaurant is a byproduct of the pandemic and an upstart catering service by Schmidt. 5. Parents engaged in a legal battle with Governor Ron DeSantis about school mask mandates want to fast-track the case to the Florida Supreme Court. They say an ?immediate resolution? by the Supreme Court is needed because the school year is already underway and the danger of infection is already occurring. (WUSF)
