Water Street Marriott & The JW Expand Dining Options

Bright Ice and Turntable join Anchor and Brine to impress and delight.

(Heather Polk Tampa Bay Food Tours)

Tampa Bay Food Tours taste ambassador Heather Polk checked out the newest dining options in downtown by the awesome team at the JW Marriott Tampa Water Street. They continue the brand's legacy of authentic dining experiences that are classy and delightful, always offering fresh takes familiar favorites. This combined with stellar service and inventive style means JW Marriott Tampa Water Street is certain to become a regular landing place for those guests and locals interesting in new and delicious culinary experiences.

Anchor and Brine and Turntable are both overseen by Executive Chef Joseph Pankrath and everyone is in for a treat. We also get to sample Bright Ice ice cream parlor at their third location opened in the Tampa Bay area.

Turntable

Rock-on and indulge in classic favorites at this food truck style, walk up window restaurant, Turntable. This grab-and-go concept currently offers an 80s and 90s Rock-n-Roll feel with music playing and menu items such as the “Red Hot Chili Pepper Chicken“ sandwich. But don’t get too attached, because this is a place that will offer new twists on old favorites over the seasons. “Always the new restaurant in town” at Turntable, chef Pankrath explains. It’s like changing the record, but always having the same turn table. Seasonally, they will change the menu and the music blasting will relate to the menu, keeping the atmosphere hip and cool.

My personal favorite on the currently menu? The Bob Marly Bowl! Yum!

Bright Ice

With the summer moist air calling my attention to the warm months ahead, my body screams for ice cream! My favorite new find in my JW adventure was visiting Bright Ice. Just when you think you have found your favorite ice cream shop or if you think that all ice cream is the same, think again. This local gem features select number of small-batch ice creams with unique flavor profiles to ensure you have the most delicious homemade ice cream experience. Every item put in their hand made ice cream is house made and with ingredient as natural as possible. The Carmel and toffee make from scratch, fresh lemons and whipped heavy cream, whatever they can make, they do in their industrial kitchen that supplies for current three locations.

Open every day from 11 AM- 10 PM and possibly extending hours as the summer days approach, this a great place for a cool refreshing treat! There’s plenty packaged and ready for you to take home as well.

Samples of Flavors:

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Coffee Toffee, Pineapple w/ Brown Sugar & Pecans, Mint with Chocolate Chunks, Lemon w/ Crystallized Ginger, Sprinkle & Cream
