Woman Dies Of Injuries After Being Struck On I-275 Exit Ramp

A 58-year-old Tampa woman died from injuries she sustained after being struck by a car while walking along the shoulder of the road.

TAMPA, FL — A 58-year-old Tampa woman died from injuries she sustained after being struck by a car while walking along the left shoulder of the exit ramp from Interstate 275 to Fletcher Avenue.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the woman was walking along the shoulder of the ramp when an 84-year-old woman from Lutz had a medical emergency and lost control of her car. The car hit the pedestrian and a road sign.

The driver was uninjured.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where she died April 23.
