Woman Who Died After Crashing Into New Tampa Pond Identified

NEW TAMPA, FL — Tampa police have released the name of a woman who was killed after crashing into a New Tampa pond Wednesday.

Nicole Allen, 38, died when her car veered off the K Bar Ranch Parkway and into a pond near Laurel Vista Way in the K Bar Ranch development, according to Tampa police and Tampa Fire Rescue officials.

Officers rescued a 12-year-old girl who was riding in the car but were not able to free Allen.

Several fire rescue personnel on the scene immediately entered the water in an attempt to remove Allen from the car. They worked for several minutes until it became apparent that they could not remove her until the car was pulled out of the water.
