A three-story Pinellas Point mansion built by baseball great Gary Sheffield has sold for $2.6 million.
An unidentified couple is purchasing the 1990s waterfront estate in a cash deal, the Tampa Bay Times reports.Â
An offer was made on the 10,900-square-foot mansion before it was scheduled to go up for auction this past weekend.
The home had been listed at $3.3 million. The current owner is Dr. Joseph Sena, a retired surgeon.
According to Zillow, the property at 850 Pinellas Point Drive is a seven-bedroom, six-bath home with a four-car garage.
The home boasts the following features:
- theater or entertainment room,
- resort-style pool with lagoon, waterfall
- billiards/game room,
- glass office with views of Tampa Bay,
- huge master suite overlooking the water,
- tennis and basketball courts, as well as a fitness center.
The Tampa Bay Times says the 1997 estate has been known for its parties through the years. Most recently the mansion was used in some scenes for the "Spring Breakers" film.
