Temple Terrace's 4th of July celebration begins with a parade and ends with a fireworks display.

Temple Terrace, FL — With the 4th of July just around the corner, Temple Terrace wants to make sure residents and visitors know what to expect during its annual celebration.

The day’s festivities begin around 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4 when the annual parade steps off from the corner of Whiteway Drive and Gillette Avenue. The parade will head south on Gillette, west on Druid Hills and then south again on Ridgedale Road. It concludes at the Ridgedale Sports Complex near Temple Terrace Elementary School.

Evening festivities begin at 6 p.m. on the first fairway of the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club, 200 Inverness Ave. Attendees can expect food vendors, live music and other entertainment, the city promises.

The annual fireworks show is set to begin around 9:15 p.m. The best viewing, the city says, is from the first fairway of the golf course. Spectators may bring lawn chairs and blankets, but personal fireworks are not allowed.

Attendees are asked to park in the downtown redevelopment area at the corner of Bullard Parkway an 56th Street. Residential street parking is also acceptable as long as there aren’t “No Parking” signs posted.

As for closings around the city, residents can expect government offices, except for emergency services, to be closed for the holiday. The closings include the Temple Terrace Public Library and the Omar K. Lightfoot Recreation Center. The Family Recreation Complex, however, will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Trash collection and curbside recycling will not be offered on July 4. Trash will be collected on residents’ next scheduled day, the city said.
