Meeting Set On New Hybrid Pedestrian Signals Along Busch Blvd

The meeting on the new pedestrian hybrid beacons along Busch Boulevard is set for Dec. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Tampa Mall, 5400 Busch Blvd.

TAMPA, FL — The Florida Department of Transportation will unveil the newly constructed pedestrian hybrid beacons along Busch Boulevard at a meeting Wednesday, Dec. 2 at 10:30 a.m. at Tampa Mall, 5400 Busch Blvd., Temple Terrace.

This $1,323,800 construction project added new high-intensity pedestrian-activated signalized crosswalks on Busch Boulevard at the intersections of 12th Street, Pawnee Avenue and Overlook Drive in Tampa.

Additionally, the existing rapid flashing beacon pedestrian crossing on Busch Boulevard at North Brooks Street is being replaced with a high-intensity pedestrian-activated signalized crosswalk.

Construction activities are expected to finish in early 2021.

The event will be outdoors at the Tampa Mall, but masks are strongly encouraged. The chairs will be spread out for social distancing.
