'Oh Myyy,' George Takei Ticket Sales Start Friday

Tampa Bay area George Takei fans who just can’t get enough of the actor on television or social media may want to put April 18 on their calendars. That’s the day Takei plans to make an appearance at the USF Sun Dome.

Tickets for Takei’s lecture go on sale Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. The cost starts at $27.75 and goes up to $52.75.

Takei became famous for playing the role of Hikaru Sulu on “Star Trek” and has gone on to play a number of parts through the years. He’s also a major figure on social media with thousands of followers on both Facebook and Twitter.

Takei’s appearance is part of the Frontier Forum lecture series presented by USF Phi Beta Kappa Alumni Faculty. Takei, a notable fighter for social justice, spent time imprisoned in a Japanese internment camp during World War II.

Tickets for Takei’s appearance go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at the Sun Dom Box Office, Ticketmaster outlets, and on www.ticketmaster.com. Charge-by-phone is also available by calling 1-800-745-3000. USF students will be admitted for free if they reserve tickets using their student ticketing accounts starting on Jan. 26, 2016.

Takei’s April 18, 2016, appearance is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
