When it happened that day we stood in shock, disbelief, and many knelled in prayer as we tried to deal with our sadness for the loss of lives on 9-11, 2001. But ask yourself do you remember? Have you told others you still care? Have you thanked a first responder in your community?
How can we forget that on September 11, 2001, when we witnessed evil as 19, al-Qaida inspired terrorists, hijacked four planes and carried out attacks against our Nation. Nearly 3000 were killed by their attacks, people from all walks of life, fathers, mothers, sons and daughters, young and old, of every faith and race, first responders and volunteers who tried to help. And afterwards, the many men and women in our military who gave their lives fighting for our freedom.

President Bush, echoed our concern with his calming words to our Nation. It was a day when as he stated "our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts." President Bush went on to correctly describe that "terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America." He called for Americans to come together and unite in our resolve for "peace and justice".
Billy Graham added that a "tragedy like this could have torn our country apart, but instead it has united us. So those perpetrators who took this on to tear us apart, it has worked the other way—it has backlashed. We are more united than ever before."

But are we united today? Do we stand for that bond between all Americans – our desire for freedom that so many of our citizens have given their lives for so we could live in a Republic. Let’s forget for just one day – this September 11t , our political differences, and remember that we are “red, white, and blue” , all Americans, regardless of religion, creed, race, or sex, and despite our differences, committed to the principles that Lincoln spoke about when he called for a “government of, by, and for the people”.
Remember 9-11!
