Riverhills Elementary gets authorized as an IB World School!

Riverhills Elementary Magnet School is notified from the International Baccalaureate Organization that it has earned authorization.

This week, Riverhills received its letter from the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) informing that they have earned authorization and are now designated as an IB World School. The process of establishing the IB program started 3 years ago when it opened as a new magnet program. Since then, faculty and administration, with support of their families and community, have worked diligently to develop a curriculum structure that addresses the state standards in a holistic and conceptual way with an emphasis on inquiry and character development. In addition to meeting all 42 standards set up IB for authorization, Riverhills received 13 commendations for exceeding expectations in multiple areas.

"As an IB World School, you are part of a global community of schools committed to developing knowledgeable, caring young people who will be ready to negotiate their futures successfully and make contributions resulting in a more harmonious and peaceful world."  -IBO

This certification comes on the heels of being identified by Magnet Schools of America (MSA) as a Magnet School of Excellence merit winner, its highest distinction, as well as making the top six schools vying for Magnet School of the Year for the nation. The winner of the award will be announced at the MSA Conference being held in Miami in the first week of May.
