See Behind The Badge At Citizens Police Academy
Day-long class gives residents a chance to see how the police department works.

TEMPLE TERRACE, FL – Residents who have always had an interest in law enforcement or those who just want to see how their local police department operates have a chance to go behind the scenes with the Temple Terrace Police Department.
The city’s Citizens Police Academy takes place Saturday, April 30 from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Public Works facility, 11210 N. 53rd St. Space is limited for this free event.
The program allows participants to explore the role of law enforcement in the Temple Terrace community, interact with police officers and discover how residents play a vital role in keeping the city safe.

Participants will learn about crime-scene processing, narcotics identification, marine law, 9-1-1 dispatch and traffic enforcement. They will also see Taser, K-9 and firearms simulation demonstrations, plus learn about the department’s emergency SWAT team.
Resident will also have an opportunity to learn about the Citizen Volunteer Patrol Program, and how to qualify.

Graduates from the Citizens Police Academy receive a diploma, a class photo and a T-shirt. A catered lunch will be served.
