Temple Terrace To Reopen Library, Family Recreation Complex
The city of Temple Terrace will reopen the Temple Terrace Public Library and the Family Recreation Complex on Monday, May 18.

TEMPLE TERRACE, FL — The city of Temple Terrace will reopen the Temple Terrace Public Library and the Family Recreation Complex on Monday, May 18. All city buildings were closed to the public in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Family Recreation Complex, 6610 Whiteway Drive, will open with new, temporary hours from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Entry to the recreation complex will be restricted to members only. All minors 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver at all times. The building capacity will be limited, as will access to the tennis and basketball courts and the pool, which will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Those wishing to use lap lanes or ball courts can register for a time slot at the front desk or by calling 813-506-6600. Use of face coverings is encouraged and members must sanitize or wash their hands upon entry and maintain social distancing at all times. The fitness center remains closed.
The Family Recreation Complex is also accepting priority registration for summer camps beginning May 18 for city residents/members only. Regular registration will begin on May 26. The camp will run from June 1 to Aug. 7 and is limited to children entering first through fifth grades. Call 813-506-6600 for prices and details. Note that availability is limited.

The Temple Terrace Public Library, 202 Bullard Parkway, will open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. In addition to reduced hours, not all services, programs or materials will be available.
The building capacity will be restricted to 25 percent. Minors 17 and younger must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult at all times. Visits will be limited to one hour.
Computers, hard-copy magazines and newspapers will not be available, and the Book Nook remains closed. Patrons will be required to sanitize or wash their hands before using the library and maintain social distancing. All patrons must wear face coverings. The Book Drop reopened on May 11 but late fees were suspended.
Also open are the Hilltop Dog Park and Tennis Courts at 10901 Richlyne St.
City Hall, public works and the Omar K. Lightfoot Center will remain closed to the public. Staff from all departments are available to answer questions and provide assistance. A phone directory and other information is available on the city’s website.
While the May 19 city council meeting will be held as scheduled, the public will not be admitted to the council chambers. Attendance will be limited to those deemed essential who have been notified in advance. As always, the meeting, which starts at 6 p.m., will be broadcast live on Spectrum Channel 641 and Frontier Channel 39, as well as on the city’s YouTube channel.
Members of the public who wish to comment on items not on the agenda may do so in person via remote access from the city hall parking lot, 11250 56th St., beginning at 6 p.m. Public comment on items on the agenda will be accommodated in person or via email or telephone.
