Temple Terrace Names Interim City Manager

Community development director Charles W. Stephenson will replace Gerald Seeber, who announced his retirement last month.

TEMPLE TERRACE, FL – The Temple Terrace City Council has appointed Charles W. Stephenson as interim city manager until a permanent manager is hired to replace Gerald Seeber.

Seeber announced his retirement in February and is on administrative leave, according to city staff.

Stephenson, 62, has been director of Temple Terrace’s Community Development Department since 2008. He came to the City in 2004 after an eight-year stint as building director for the City of Key West.

Prior to that, Stephenson accumulated more than 20 years’ experience in the construction and development industry. He is a 1976 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry, minoring in engineering.

“This is an important job, and I’m honored that City leaders put their faith in me during this time of transition,” Stephenson said in a statement. “We have a great staff, and I’m confident we’ll continue to provide the high quality of services our residents have come to expect. I look forward to continuing our commitment to the community.”
