Tom Mortenson, who served as the Community Development Director in Temple Terrace and is credited with doubling the size of the city and tripling the tax base made his 9th polar plunge this year. Mortenson traveled to Detroit Lakes, MN (near Fargo, N.D.) to make his plunge for the benefit of the Boys and Girls Club. Mortenson, who served as the Becker County Administrator, has come to the event for nine years and raised thousands of dollars to help the children in this small rural Minnesota community. Tom appeared as the Incredible Man in a flying machine and won 1st place for best costume. Asked if he intends to make the 10th jump next year, and the former Scandinavian Trade Association President said "You betcha! Don't you know it is what we do!"
