Wesley Chapel Bicyclist Killed On Hillsborough Avenue

THONOTOSASSA, FL -- A 61-year-old Wesley Chapel bicyclist has died following a crash on Hillsborough Avenue and Harney Road in Hillsborough County on Sunday, Nov. 4.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Wesley Chapel bicyclist was heading east on Hillsborough Avenue in the westbound bike lane east of Harney Road. Corey Nathan Lucas, 45, of Valrico, was traveling west on Hillsborough Avenue when the bicyclist changed lanes and collided with Lucas' Dodge car. The man on the bicycle was ejected and landed on the shoulder of the road.

He was taken to an area hospital where he died.

His name isn't being released until his next of kin have been notified.
