Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County and the Wells Fargo Foundation are teaming up to build affordable homes in Belle Glade.

Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County (HFHPBC) and the Wells Fargo Foundation are teaming up to build affordable homes in Belle Glade and surrounding communities.
A $15,000 grant from the Foundation will help HFHPBC build 12 homes in Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay over the next year. Four of the single-family homes have already been matched with low- or very low-income families.
“The generous grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation will help us build affordable homes in the Glades, where they are desperately needed,” said Bernard Godek, Executive Director of HFHPBC. “Since opening our Belle Glade office over a year ago, we’ve seen tremendous interest from families eager to achieve the dream of homeownership.”

In addition to building new homes, HFHPBC preserves existing properties through its Neighborhood Revitalization program. This effort, which allows low-income homeowners to carry out critically needed repairs at an affordable cost, has already assisted multiple Glades-area families.
Looking to the future, Mr. Godek said he expects HFHPBC’s work in the Glades to improve stability for individual residents and the wider community.
