Smokable Medical Marijuana Guide in West Palm Beach

Step-by-step instructions to obtain legal marijuana flower

Recently, the Governor signed SB-182 Medical Use of Marijuana into law, which changed the way approved patients can ingest marijuana, by allowing the smokable flower form. This is a big advancement in patient care, and what Florida voters have been waiting for. Lawmakers banned smokable flower in 2017, when medical marijuana first became legal under Amendment 2.

Now, approved patients have access to marijuana in it's natural, flower form and can benefit by the entourage effects, which come from the over 400 cannabinoids you don't receive in extracted oils.

However, it's going to take a few steps which the OMMU requires before you can run down to a West Palm Beach dispensary and buy marijuana flower.

Next, your local medical marijuana doctor will need to add a "smokable marijuana" recommendation to the inhalation portion of your OMMU profile. Florida law allows a maximum of 2.5 ounces per 35 days. A patient may posses up to 4 ounces of smokable flower at one time.

If you are not yet approved for medical marijuana in Florida, and want it in the smokable form, make sure you tell your MMJ doctor at your initial appointment.

At the moment, only Trulieve, the largest medical marijuana dispensary in Florida is selling smokable marijuana. The other approved dispensaries will most likely follow suit, since flower is such a popular delivery device for marijuana.

To recap, if your an approved patient and want smokable marijuana, just sign the patient consent form, have your ordering physician add the smokable flower recommendation to your inhalation portion in your OMMU profile. Then, Trulieve dispensary will fill up-to 2.5 ounces, every 35 days, per your physicians recommendation/prescription.

Once you have possession of smokable flower remember you must only use it at home, in private. Smoking marijuana in public places, even though your an approved patient, remains illegal under Florida law.

Plus, when you are traveling with any type of marijuana products, (smokable flower, oils) keep your state-issued MMJ card in your wallet. This will protect your rights as a patient, assuming your following all the FLOMMU laws and regulations.
