West Palm Man Killed in Apparent Road Rage Incident

26-year-old Duvarn N. Fraser died of wounds he received in an apparent road rage incident along I-95.

RIVIERA BEACH — A 26-year-old West Palm Beach man died of injuries he received during what the Florida Highway Patrol described as a possible road rage incident along I-95 north of Blue Heron Boulevard. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. The victim was identified as Duvarn N. Fraser.

"After the altercation, this gentleman, the victim was stabbed several times significantly all over the body, the head, the torso the arms," a Florida Highway Patrol officer told CBS 12. "He was transported to St. Mary's Hopsital in West Palm Beach, [where] he later passed away."

Fraser, who was driving a black, 2008 Chevrolet Malibu, was involved in an apparent accident with a white, 2015 Chevrolet Express van.

Sergeant John E. Baker of the Florida Highway Patrol told Patch that two men were held for questioning and later released. They were identified as 44-year-old Mario Rene Briceno of Lake Worth and 49-year-old Jose Rene Briceno Escobar of West Palm Beach.

No charges had been filed as of Wednesday morning.

"A knife and a firearm was recovered on scene. Both Hispanic males were transported to the Lake Worth Headquarters and were interviewed by investigators," Baker said.

The initial 9-1-1 call said that a firearm was involved. "The caller advised that he requested the police to be en-route, due to a firearm being involved," according to Baker. "While the communications center was taking the information the call had dropped. Soon after, a witness had called 9-1-1 advising there was a fight on the right shoulder of Interstate 95, north of Blue Heron Boulevard."

The victim died at 9:36 p.m.
