Wind May Have Blown Cocaine Into Purse, Woman Tells Cop: Report

"I don't know anything about any cocaine. It's a windy day. It must have flown through the window and into my purse."

FORT PIERCE, FL — A woman who was arrested in St. Lucie County reportedly told police that wind may have blown cocaine into the car she was in, and may explain why police found the substance — along with some marijuana — in her purse. Kennecia Posey, 26, faces a felony charge of possessing cocaine as well as a misdemeanor charge of possessing no more than 20 grams of marijuana, online county court records indicated.

Posey, of Port St. Lucie, is scheduled to appear in court next month for an arraignment.

A police report obtained by WPLG-TV alleged that Posey was one of two passengers inside a swerving car that was stopped by Fort Pierce police on March 21.

One officer got a whiff of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle as the officer approached. A subsequent search uncovered the drugs in separate bags inside Posey's purse, which he she had on her lap, the report alleged.

When asked about the drugs, Posey acknowledged the marijuana was hers, police said.

As for the cocaine, Posey allegedly said: "I don't know anything about any cocaine. It's a windy day. It must have flown through the window and into my purse."

Posey was booked into the county jail and later released on bond.

Patch has reached out to an attorney listed online for Posey and will update when we hear back.
