Berkeley Students Set For Boston's St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Tampa school's pipe and drum corps first appeared in the annual parade in 1998.

TAMPA, FL — Fifteen members of Berkeley Preparatory School’s Pipe and Drum Corps are preparing to don their finest blue tartan kilts and military jackets to put a Scottish spin on Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The annual event through the streets of south Boston is set for Sunday, March 20. Berkeley first began appearing in the parade back in 1998 and was even featured on the cover of the Boston Globe in 2005.

“Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade boasts close to a million people along the parade route and even more watch it on television,” Berkeley announced in a media release. “The parade route extends seven miles and travels through South Boston – the city’s neighborhood with the most Irish influence.”
