Mary Bryant Elementary School's Chess Team took home top honors last weekend during the State Championship Chess Tournament.
The event is organized by the Florida Chess Association and was held at the Tampa Hilton on April 26-28. Bryant sent eight players to compete in the tournament. More than 330 students from across the state attended.
The Bryant team won first place in the K-3 competition.
