Gas Smell Prompts Lowry Elementary Evacuation
Low levels of propane in the school's tanks have been blamed for the incident.

A Friday morning scare at Lowry Elementary School has resolved itself with teachers and students once again allowed inside the building.
According to Hillsborough County Schools, the 11505 Country Hollow Drive campus was evacuated for about 45 minutes when a strong smell of propane gas was detected.

All students and staff were removed from the building while Hillsborough County Fire Rescue investigated the source of the smell.
“Fire Rescue turned off the propane tanks and we are told the levels on the tanks were low and that was the source of the smell,” an email from the school district to media stated.
