Have Your Say on Lake Rogers, Raleigh Water Levels

The Southwest Florida Water Management District is soliciting public comment on conditions at area lakes.

Each year the state requires the Southwest Florida Water Management District to set minimum water levels for certain bodies of water across the region. The level requirements ensure that those bodies remain at the proper levels for the community.

The levels also play into the district's permitting process and for development of water resources.

Next week, the district will gather input on how much water should be maintained in two area lakes: Lake Rogers and Lake Raleigh.

To get resident feedback, the district is hosting a workshop Wednesday, May 29 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Walker Middle School, 8282 N. Mobley Road.

During the workshop, district staff will review the proposed levels and give local government, residents and business owners a chance to voice their opinions about where levels should be set for these two Hillsborough County lakes.
