Hernando County students win AT&T video contest about distracted driving

Four Nature Coast Technical High School students celebrated winning an AT&T video contest about distracted driving on May 9.

Four Nature Coast Technical High School students celebrated winning an AT&T video contest about distracted driving. AT&T recognized the students on May 9 in their school's film production classroom.

As the contest winners, the students -- Destiny Barnes, Justice Pye, Breana Anselmo and Tatiana Martinez -- got to choose a nonprofit to receive a $1,000 contribution from AT&T.

AT&T’s It Can Wait campaign shares a simple message: Distracted driving is never OK. Thanks to the Nature Coast Technical High students, AT&T will make a $1,000 contribution to Florida Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD) to support education on the dangers of distracted driving.
Florida SADD is dedicated to educating students, parents, and others in the community about the problems of underage drinking, impaired driving, seatbelt usage, driver training, speeding and distracted driving.

The winner was chosen after a six-day challenge for the most retweets of their video on Twitter. The Nature Coast team was selected as the winner after their social media engagement generated more than 130 retweets on Twitter.

You can help spread the It Can Wait message: Watch the winning video and share the team's tweet.
