Sickles High School Marching Wall of Sound Marching Bands Lion's Pride Marching Band Competition King High School

Sickles High School's marching band, the marching Wall of Sound, recently became Grand Champions of Lion's Pride, Florida's largest marching band competition, held at King High School in Tampa. With its
2017 season Rock n Roll Show, featuring the songs of AC DC, Metallica, and Lynyrd Skynyrd, they beat out 26 other high schools to become the overall champions of the competition with the last performance of the evening. In addition, they received superior ratings in percussion, drum majors, auxiliary, and band and first place in their Division. The Marching Wall of Sound boasts approximately 200 marching musicians and was the largest entry in the competition, which included schools such as Manatee High School, Chamberlain High School, Pasco High School, Berkeley Preparatory School, Alonso High School, and River Ridge High School. The Sickles Bands are under the baton of band director Keith Griffis and the Sickles High School Principal is Mary Freitas.
