AT&T Boosts Wireless Coverage Along Tampa and Ybor Parade Routes

Capacity and Speed Upgrades Made to Tampa's Mobile Network.

AT&T is boosting cellular capacity in downtown Tampa and Ybor City. We’ve worked all year to prepare the Seminole Hard Rock Gasparilla Parade of Pirates and the Sant' Yago Knight Parade routes for the upcoming celebrations.

When pirates and buccaneers head to Tampa’s annual pirate-themed festivities, they can expect a better mobile experience to share special moments.

We worked on network upgrades throughout 2017 to boost service in Tampa. We’ve done this through a series of 13 permanent upgrades throughout downtown and Ybor City. Parade-goers will be connected as soon as they arrive for the festivities. They can look forward to sharing celebrations on social media faster and easier than before.

We expect crowds of more than 300,000 people at Tampa’s Gasparilla Parade, but we’re ready.

“When people celebrate the annual Gasparilla and Ybor City festivities, they rely on having a great network experience – whether they’re making a call, checking email or sharing their favorite moments on social media,” said Joe York, president of AT&T Florida. “But these network enhancements in Tampa aren’t just for the parades. They’re permanent and will continue to benefit customers. It’s just one way we’re continuing to invest in our Tampa wireless network.”

At AT&T, we invested more than $130 million in our Tampa Bay market’s wireless and wired networks during 2014-2016.
