GA Coronavirus Vaccine: Where To Get It, How To Schedule It

If you're eligible, there's more than one way to find your COVID-19 vaccination in Georgia. Here's how to do it.

GEORGIA — If you're confused trying to figure out where and when you can get the coronavirus vaccine in Georgia, you're not alone. Here’s the latest information on which residents of the Peach State can receive COVID-19 vaccinations and how they can do it.

Who Can Get Vaccinated

Starting Thursday, March 25, all Georgians 16 and older will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination.

Until Thursday, only these Georgians are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine:

  • Adults aged 55 and over
  • Healthcare workers (physicians, nurses, laboratory technicians, EMS personnel, environmental services, etc.)
  • Residents and staff of long-term care facilities
  • Caregivers for Georgians 65 and older who need help with every-day tasks
  • Educators and staff (pre-K, K-12, DECAL-licensed or exempt childcare programs)
  • Law-enforcement personnel, firefighters and first responders
  • Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their caregivers. See the Georgia Department of Public Health's website for definitions of intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Parents of children with complex medical conditions who are at high risk for COVID complications. See the Georgia Department of Public Health's website for a list of qualifying complex medical conditions.
  • Individuals with disabilities
  • Individuals 16 years and older with certain medical conditions that increase their risk of severe illness from COVID-19. Conditions include: asthma, cancer, cerebrovascular disease, chronic kidney disease, COPD, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, hypertension, various heart conditions, HIV and other conditions that compromise immunity, liver disease, neurologic conditions, obesity, pregnancy, pulmonary fibrosis, sickle cell disease and thalassemia. Pfizer is the only COVID vaccine currently approved for children aged 16 and older.

Where To Get Vaccinated

If you’re eligible now, the next step is to find a facility near you and book an appointment.

Georgia's health department also maintains a list on its website of all other facilities and clinics giving COVID-19 vaccinations, listed alphabetically and matched to counties and cities. To find one near you, click here.

Have questions? Call Georgia’s vaccine-scheduling resource line at 888-457-0186. The line operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Still Not Sure What To Do?

Visit MyVaccineGeorgia.com, run by the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency. This site simplifies criteria and links you to other sites that best serve your needs, including four mass-vaccination sites Georgia has opened. It also allows you to sign up for email updates, even if you’re not currently eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination.
