GBI Releases Sketch Of Woman Found Dead Inside Suitcase

The woman's remains were found in December 2017 along Interstate 75 in Butts County.

BUTTS COUNTY, GA — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is working with the Butts County Sheriff's Office to identify the skeletal remains of a woman found in a suitcase late last year along Interstate 75.

The remains were found on Dec. 28, 2017, in a soft-sided suitcase in Butts County, which is about 50 miles south of Atlanta, the GBI said. An anthropological examination indicates the remains are of an African-American woman between 19 and 45 years old, the agency added.

Her height ranges from 5 feet and 5'8'' tall and a "well-healed" fracture was found on her right leg directly at the ankle. The remains are further distinguished by a "pronounced gap" between her top two front teeth, GBI notes.
