Tons of people will be taking that midnight train to Georgia for some great solar eclipse events and viewing hot spots this week. Where to? Here are three spots across the state that are perfect for watching the 2017 total solar eclipse:
If you want to watch the eclipse from a prime location but also want to stay active, consider heading to Sky Valley Georgia. The Sky Valley Golf Tournament is played on a scenic course that delves straight through the belt of the eclipse's path. There are plenty of activities to keep the non-golfers occupied and entertained as well, like pickle ball, a zip line tour and several wineries.

For a true outdoorsy eclipse experience, you've got to head to Clayton, Georgia. Black Rock Mountain State Park is an expansive area with accommodations that are sure to satisfy everyone in your group. You can witness the solar eclipse from a cozy, rustic cottage or truly rough it at one of Black Rock Mountain's various tent-ready campsites.
The park officials will host an eclipse event from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. on August 21st. Tickets are just $5.
#3 "Experience Extraordinary" at Dillard City Hall Fairgrounds
The City of Dillard is pulling out all the stops for the solar eclipse weekend. Enjoy live bluegrass music, trail rides, distillery tours, zip lines and lots and lots of BBQ. The event itself is free, and parking just $10. Space is limited, so be sure to get there early.
