Reality TV Stars Todd And Julie Chrisley Guilty Of Fraud: Reports

GEORGIA ? A Federal jury found reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley guilty of fraud, according to multiple reports.

The couple from the USA Network series ?Chrisley Knows Best? had been on trial to face criminal bank fraud and tax evasion charges, reported WSB-TV. A jury found them guilty on all counts. The case involved an allegation of $30 million in fraudulent bank loans the government says the Chrisleys took out to fund their lavish lifestyle and extravagant spending ? even before becoming reality TV stars, reported WSB.

According to NBC News, the couple was indicted in 2019 on charges of wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States.

In 2019, the Chrisleys agreed on a settlement with the Georgia Department of Revenue, reported NBC News to avoid state charges, paying a $147,944.75 fine. But they also received more than $66,000 in refunds from tax years 2013 to 2016.

USA Network announced in May that the series had been renewed for its 10th season, even though they were set to stand federal trial the same month.
